Leeds Arts Union
Your University, Your Voice, Your Union!
Your Leeds Arts Union is constantly developing and growing ever bigger, and we work hard to represent everyone’s views effectively and support you during your time here with us. The Union is responsible for student engagement within the University including the Student Representatives system, Freshers and a calendar of events, sports, activities and socieities.
Student Representation
Leeds Arts Union is the voice of our students across the University, the city and the nation.
The Unions' mission to help make sure every single student is represented throughout the University. Students in each course and programme elect their own Student Reps who provide a valuable link to University staff and management; enabling suggestions, opinions and the voice of students to be heard.
Each spring, we hold the Students Elections. Elected students from across the University make up the Student Executive Officer team, working together to improve the experience of student life here at University. As your Union, the team will listen to your ideas and opinions; organising campaigns, events, activities & societies that you want to get involved in.
We have a dedicated Student Liaison Officer and Student Liaison Assistant who both work alongside our full time Student President. The Student President is the main student representative within the University and leads the elected Student Exec team.
National Union of Students [NUS]
Leeds Arts Union is affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS). The NUS campaigns nationally on student issues ranging from tuition fees to safer accommodation and fair access to education. The NUS also provide our staff and Union team with excellent training and support.
