Computer Support
Welcome,
This area of the Portal is designed to support students in accessing self-help guides that relate to using computers in the University. You'll notice that some guides are written here on this page, and others are provided as links. If you have any problems in accessing parts of this page, please speak to the Computer Resource department.
The Computer Resources team are there to provide student computer support. Their knowledgable staff will be able to assist you with University software whilst you are studying. You can find them opposite the library at Blenheim Walk, or on the ground floor next to the Students' Union at Vernon Street.
You will find more details about the team in eStudio.
Our Internet Service is provided by JANET, the Joint Academic Network, in conjunction with the University of Leeds. As such we are bound by their terms and policies regarding Internet usage within our University. The policy is there to protect our institution, staff and our students as well as the interests of the Joint Academic Network.
Office 365
The University is able to offer digital copies of Office 365 to enrolled students on courses of 1 year in duration or longer (Further Education and Higher Education). This can be requested by emailing selfservice@leeds-art.ac.uk with "Office 365" in the subject line. You must email from a University account and the licence will only be set up against that account. The licence will be withdrawn at the completion of your studies.
Apple have discontinued the Educational Discount. Stone Computers Ltd have been awarded a contract by the Universities Purchasing Consortium to continue the supply of discounted equipment to staff and students. Details of how you can purchase privately will appear on this page in July. If you wish to purchase sooner, please contact Chris Parkin in IT.
