Students' Union

Leeds College of Art Student Union

Your College, Your Voice, Your Students' Union!

Your Students' Union is constantly developing and growing ever bigger, and we work hard to represent everyone’s views effectively and support you during your time here with us. The Students' Union is responsible for student engagement within the College including the Student Representatives system, Freshers and a calendar of events, sports, activities and socieities.

Student Representation

The Students' Union is the voice of our students across the College, the city and the nation.

The Students’ Union mission to help make sure every single student is represented throughout the College. Students in each course and programme elect their own Student Reps who provide a valuable link to College staff and management; enabling suggestions, opinions and the voice of students to be heard.

Each spring, we hold the Students’ Union Elections. Elected students from across the College make up the Students’ Union Executive Officer team, working together to improve the experience of student life here at College. As your SU, the team will listen to your ideas and opinions; organising campaigns, events, activities & societies that you want to get involved in.

We have a dedicated Student Liaison Officer and Student Liaison Assistant who both work alongside our full time Student President. The Student President is the main student representative within the college and leads the elected Students’ Union team.

National Union of Students [NUS]

Our Students' Union is affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS). The NUS campaigns nationally on student issues ranging from tuition fees to safer accommodation and fair access to education. The NUS also provide our staff and Students’ Union team with excellent training and support.

Any student at LCA can purchase the NUS Extra card. The NUS Extra card is a great way for you to take advantage of over 200 exclusive deals and discounts online, and now comes with 1 year FREE ISIC un-locking over 42,000 international discounts!
